Best wishes for Christmas 2013

Happy Christmas, 2013

Thank you for your support of Healesville Speech Pathology throughout this year. It has been my busiest year so far.
All my children have made tremendous improvements and this has made me immensely proud. I have worked in more outlying locations within the district, reaching more children in need through my outreach service. Thank you to the tireless efforts of parents, grandparents, teachers, teacher’s Aides, kinder staff, and all my devoted colleagues who have worked alongside me this year.

A reflection.....
As a child I was enchanted by the Christmas special Charlie Brown’s Christmas, written and produced by
Charles Schulz in 1965.

As Charlie Brown sinks into a state of despair trying to find the true meaning of Christmas, Linus quietly saves the day. He walks to the centre of the stage where the Peanuts characters have gathered, and standing near a straggly Christmas tree under a narrow spotlight, quotes the second chapter of the Gospel According to Luke, verses 8 through 14:

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men.

“ . . .
And that’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown,” Linus concluded.

Kindest wishes and may Christmas inspire you with hopefulness, Eva
